“THE BIG 7” ALL RETURN TO RACE AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY IN 2019

(Dundee, NY)  Dubbed as “The Big 7”, many of the nation’s top touring groups will make an appearance at the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY during the 2019 season.

For every group it will be a return engagement from last year when the track hosted each organization to pack grandstands.

It all gets started on April 19 with the Annual Spring Nationals as the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints will once again open up the regular season at the Yates County oval and for the highly popular ESS group, it will be their 2019 season point opener.  Expect to see many of the northeast’s top sprint car pilots as they try and tackle the ultrafast 4/10 of a mile clay oval at Outlaw.

Tuesday, May 7 will see the Super Dirtcar Big Block Modified Series make their third consecutive appearance at the track. In 2017 it was the Franklin Flyer, Billy Decker picking up the victory. Oddly  enough, Decker began his career at the old Dundee Raceway Park in the early 1980’s and since rejoining the Gypsum Express Race Team at the completion of the 2018 season look for Decker to try and back up his “17” SDS win at Outlaw Speedway.  Last year Brett “The Jet” Hearn added his name into the record books with the popular win. 20 years earlier, Hearn picked up a Dirtcar 358 Small Block Modified win at the track. The 2 Big Block events run thus far are the first ever fully sanctioned Big Block Modified Series races sanctioned by Dirtcar in the entire history of the Yates County speed plant.  The 2018 event drew most of the top Big Block race teams within the region and this year’s campaign tour show promises to be a must see event. The Ultimate Outlaw 100 lap event is a show that you will not want to miss.

The Vicki Emig and Mike Leone led Rush Crate Late Model Series will make their third trip to the Outlaw Speedway in as many years on Friday, May 31, 2019.  Local favorites, Bryce Davis of Canisteo and Jeremy Wonderling of Scio found victory lane in 2017 and 2018 respectfully. This year’s event will once again be called the Gary Montgomery Memorial with good reason as Montgomery is responsible for making such drivers as Davis, the Wonderlings, John Waters, the Knowles boys and Wayne Robertson household names with his involvement and promotion of the BRP CanAm 360 Late Model Series throughout the entire northeast and Canada.  Thru aggressive marketing and a constant look to the future, Emig is on the cutting edge of redirecting a multitude of different classes that fall under the “Spec” banner.

Outlaw Speedway will open the month of June the week after the Rush Series Special on the 7th with the return of the Tony Stewart led Ollies All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car Series.  In 3 races at Outlaw there have been 3 different faces in victory lane with “The Kunkletown Kid”, Ryan Smith claiming the inaugural win in 2017. In “18” it was Ollies All Star Circuit of Champions regular competitors, Paul McMahan and Carson Macedo picking up the wins.  Fans that were in attendance for these events are still buzzing about the quality of competition that made for some of the best 410 Sprint car action ever witnessed. Due to scheduling conflicts, the 410 Sprint Series will make just one appearance at Outlaw Speedway in 2019.

Brett Deyo has come a long ways in very short period of time.  His Short Track Super Series has become a sanctioning body that has drawn the attention of most Modified drivers and top notch marketing partners from Delaware, New Jersey, Pa., NY, New England and Canada.  With huge purses, a massive contingency program and point fund, Deyo and company will invade the Outlaw Speedway for the second consecutive year on Wednesday, June 19. Last year, Stewart Friesen waxed a stellar field in route to the victory, but not without a spirited battle with local favorite, Corey Costa.  Depending on his other racing interests including the NASCAR Truck Series it will be interesting to see if “The Big Freeze” will return to Outlaw to defend his 2018 win in the Outlaw Showdown 50.

The Annual NASCAR Night on Friday, August 2 will see the return of the A. Verdi Storage Containers sponsored Patriot Sprint Tour to Outlaw.  Mike Emhoff and his merry band of 360 sprint drivers will again converge on Outlaw Speedway in what will be a full night of competition of Winged Sprint Car action along with a few NASCAR Monster Energy drivers that will be on hand to greet the fans and sign autographs.  Mark this date as the Patriot Sprint Tour and NASCAR Night at Outlaw Speedway will see a standing room only crowd!

Last but certainly no least the World Racing Group is pleased to announce the return of the ground pounding, fire breathing, alcohol burning, World of Outlaws Late Model Series to the Outlaw Speedway as part of the Annual Fall Nationals on Friday, September 20, 2019.  Last year a massive rain storm moved thru the Finger Lakes Region right after the qualifying races were tucked into the books prompting both the Outlaw Speedway and WoO Management Groups to make a hasty reschedule of the event to 48 hours later on Sunday. Fans who made the trip back were not disappointed as the 50 lap feature event saw numerous lead changes before Brandon Sheppard was able to get to the front and nailed the win which incidentally was the first ever appearance for the WoO Late Model Series at Outlaw.  All the top point finishers in the series raved at how much they liked the track surface and how well they were treated by the fans and management at the track, thus prompting another date in 2019.

Fourth year Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri is extremely proud that his facility has been able to secure dates for the upcoming season for 7 of the country’s top sanctioning bodies.

“We have tried our best to provide a mix of special events throughout the race season.  Over the past few years we have entertained our fans with race competition depicting almost every style of race car.  From 360 and 410 sprints to Big and Small Block Modifieds to full fendered Crate and Super Late Models; all this while still promoting our weekly classes of action.  The groups that come to Outlaw Speedway represent the major sanctioning bodies in the United States. We have had great success with these 7 groups in the past and we feel very confident 2019 will be even better.”  That according the Siri.
