(DUNDEE N.Y.) – Current Street Stock point leader and experienced driver, Chuck Winslow, is dedicated and committed to his racing career, as well as every other aspect of his life. He’s also the hottest Street Stock driver in the Creekside Entertainment Street Stock division this season, while showing no signs of letting off the gas pedal any time soon.
This 54-year-old driver out of Elmira, NY, started out racing asphalt for 15 years, before switching to dirt about 10 years ago. In his first few years on dirt, he and his friends started out racing 4 Cylinders, and he made his way up to Street Stock.
“I had some friends racing and I was always interested in it, and thought I’d give it a try,” Winslow stated when asked how he got into racing in a recent interview.
When asked how he is maintaining a point lead this early in the season, Winslow explained, “I’ve never chased points, I’m not a big points fan. I race for the win, and the points will fall where they fall.”
He proves his dedication and commitment to every part of his life, having been a professional firefighter in the city of Elmira for 30 years, spending the last 30 years married to his wife, as well as the last 25 years racing between asphalt and dirt, Chuck Winslow is not one to give up on anything he sets his mind to. This dedication specifically applies to his racing career, he says he is just not ready to give up, and racing is something that is fun for him that he truly enjoys.
In fact, it was a recent win where Winslow credited the victory to advice his wife gave on the setup of the rear end of the No. 61. The following race, Winslow shuffled the credit to his boys- truly making it a family affair.
Winslow has been red hot so far in 2016, having not finished outside the top four positions but only once. He was the very first feature winner in the debut of the Fight Night All Star Street Stock Series on Wednesday June 8th.
