OUTLAW SPEEDWAY SUFFERS ANOTHER FRIDAY NIGHT RAINOUT ON JUNE 1, 2018

OUTLAW SPEEDWAY SUFFERS ANOTHER FRIDAY NIGHT RAINOUT ON JUNE 1, 2018

Work continues on a make-up date for the 2nd Annual Gary Montgomery Memorial Event.

(Dundee, NY)  Afternoon thunderstorms, a deluge of rain across the Finger Lakes Region of New York and the threat of even more severe storms forced the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY to cancel their June 1, 2018 Gary Montgomery Memorial Event.

With a number of Sweeney Chevrolet Rush Crate Late Models many from well outside the area heading to the Yates County oval it was determined that the grounds were to saturated ,so the management team at the track decided to pull the plug early and save racers an unnecessary trip.

Several race venues across the region have been battling weather conditions thus far in the mid-season portion of the 2018 race season and Outlaw Speedway has been no exception and even though they have had five shows into the record books the track has actually experienced only a couple nights where weather wasn’t a deterrent with either total washouts or rain delays.

“I guess we are more fortunate than some other tracks that have only had one to two races in so far this year, stated track owner, Tyler Siri. We can’t dwell too much on that right now because we have one of our biggest nights of the year coming up next week that we are preparing for.”

With the washout it sets up a huge night of action on June 8 with the second running of the Arctic Cat All Star 410 Sprint Series owned and promoted by Tony Stewart.  “Smoke” has indicated that he will be in attendance at Outlaw Speedway for the event which also includes several of the tracks regular divisions. (See the additional press release relevant to the June 8 event)

It has not yet been determined if and when the 2nd Annual Gary Montgomery Night including the Sweeney Rush Crate Late Model Series will make a return engagement to Outlaw Speedway.  Track owner, Tyler Siri will have to sit down with series promoter, Vicki Emig and see if there is a date suitable for both parties to bring the touring group back to the Dundee, NY speed plant.  More details on a potential make-up will be released as they become available.

Also, it will push back one week the highly anticipated arrival to the Outlaw Speedway of “The Doctor”, Danny Johnson in a brand new second Tyler Siri owned and prepared ride.
